What Happens After the Rapture? A Scripture-Based Timeline of Events

4 min read · By Christbearing Warrior

One moment, millions of people are here. The next moment, they're gone.

No warning. No countdown. No dramatic music. Just absence. Chairs empty at dinner tables. Cars drifting without drivers. Planes without pilots. Cribs without babies. A world that was full one second and hollow the next.

That's the rapture. And what comes after it is the most devastating period in human history.

If you're reading this before it happens, this is your warning. If you're reading this after — keep reading. Everything that's happening around you right now is in this post, and in the pages of my book.

The Timeline

The Bible lays out a specific sequence of events that follows the rapture. It's not random chaos — it's ordered judgment, unfolding in three waves over seven years.

The Seven Seals

The first wave. The Lamb — Jesus Christ — opens seven seals on a scroll in Heaven, and each seal unleashes a judgment on the earth.

  • The White Horse — The Antichrist rides out as a conqueror. He comes with promises of peace, but he brings subjugation.
  • The Red Horse — War. Global, devastating, unprecedented. Peace is taken from the earth.
  • The Black Horse — Famine. Food becomes scarce and impossibly expensive. A day's wages for a loaf of bread.
  • The Pale Horse — Death. A quarter of the world's population dies through war, famine, plague, and wild beasts.
  • The Martyrs' Cry — The souls of those killed for their faith cry out from under the altar, asking how long until justice comes.
  • The Great Earthquake — A global earthquake. The sun turns black. The moon turns red. Stars fall. The sky rolls up like a scroll. Every mountain and island shifts from its place.
  • Silence in Heaven — For half an hour, Heaven goes completely silent. What follows is worse.
  • The Seven Trumpets

The second wave. Seven angels sound seven trumpets, each unleashing escalating devastation.

  • Hail and fire mixed with blood. A third of trees and all green grass burned.
  • Something like a burning mountain thrown into the sea. A third of the sea becomes blood. A third of sea life dies. A third of ships destroyed.
  • A great star called Wormwood falls on the rivers and springs. A third of fresh water is poisoned. Many die.
  • A third of the sun, moon, and stars are struck dark. A third of the day has no light.
  • Demonic locusts released from the abyss. They torment those without God's seal for five months with pain like a scorpion's sting. People will seek death and not find it.
  • Four angels released at the Euphrates. An army of 200 million. A third of remaining humanity killed.
  • The kingdom of the world becomes the kingdom of Christ. But the final judgments are still to come.
  • The Seven Bowls

The final wave. The full, undiluted wrath of God poured out on those who chose the Beast.

  • Painful sores on everyone who took the mark.
  • The entire sea turns to blood. Everything in it dies.
  • All rivers and springs turn to blood. There is no clean water.
  • The sun scorches people with intense heat.
  • Total darkness over the Beast's kingdom. People gnaw their tongues in agony.
  • The Euphrates River dries up, preparing the way for the kings of the east to march toward Armageddon.
  • The greatest earthquake in history. Cities collapse. Islands vanish. Mountains flatten. Hundred-pound hailstones fall from the sky.
  • And then Christ returns.

    The Point

This isn't fiction. This is what the Bible says is coming. I turned it into a novel so people could experience it — feel the weight of it, see it through human eyes, understand the stakes.

But the source material is scripture. Every seal, every trumpet, every bowl is drawn directly from the book of Revelation.

If this is your first time seeing it laid out this plainly, let it sink in. This is what's coming for the world after the rapture. And the only way to avoid it is to be on the right side of that rapture.

Turn to Christ now. Not tomorrow. Not after you've thought about it. Now. Because when the first seal opens, thinking time is over.
